PC to PC ServiceThis type of service only allows you to call from your computer to another computer hooked up to the Internet. This type of service has been around in one form or another for a few years now. Using the voice chat from you IM program is a form of this service. The best thing about this type of service is that it's most likely free. Currently there are two major free providers Skype and Free World Dialup. Although they are both PC to PC based phone services, they use different connection methods. You'll most likely use a software based phone to connect with a PC to PC service. Free World Dialup allows you to use a Hard Phone, but that's going to require a substantial investment, since the hardware required is still fairly pricey. Skype uses its own client software and works like a peer-to-peer network like Kazaa (they're programmed by the same people). Of course, if you use a software based phone dialer, you'll need a computer headset with a microphone. No, you can't use a cell phone headset, they have different connections. You can pick up a cheap one at Radio Shack for $3.00.
